Operation Toofan 2.0
Operation Toofan 2.0
"Operation Toofan 2.0" is the second phase of "Operation Toofan: The Narco Hunt," a mission launched jointly by the Kerala Home Department and the Kerala Police to completely eradicate the spread and supply chains of synthetic drugs and other narcotics across the state. Following the initial phase of inspections and arrests, the primary objective of this second phase is to strengthen anti-drug awareness and prevention at the ward level through public participation. Under this initiative, 10-member 'Toofan Committees' are formed in every ward by coordinating Local Self-Government Institutions, Kudumbashree, ASHA workers, and the Haritha Karma Sena to ensure vigilance and monitoring at the ward level. Along with this, the government aims to create a comprehensive anti-drug environment through 'Toofan Care' to rehabilitate those seeking freedom from drug addiction, app-based support systems, and specialized financial and cyber investigation teams within the police department.
