Anganvadis

Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) under the Department of Women and Child Development offer various services aimed at the comprehensive development of children and mothers through 17 Anganwadis in Kudayathoor Grama Panchayat, Idukki District.

1. Pre-School Education (Ages 3 to 6)

Play-based learning focusing on the mental and physical development of children.
Fostering social interaction, primary language skills, and behavioral habits.

2. Nutrition Supply

Providing nutritious daily lunches (such as porridge, green gram, eggs, milk, etc.) and snacks to children.
Distribution of 'Amrutham Podi' for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children aged 6 months to 3 years.

3. Health Check-ups and Growth Monitoring

Periodic health check-ups for children in collaboration with local healthcare workers (ASHA workers, JHI/JPHN).

Accurately measuring children's height and weight, recording them in 'Growth Charts,' and taking necessary steps to address malnutrition.

4. Immunization

Ensuring children and pregnant women receive required vaccines on time with the assistance of Primary Health Centres (PHCs).

5. Awareness Programs (Health & Nutrition Education)

Organizing monthly neighborhood group meetings and awareness classes for mothers.
Providing information regarding hygiene, childcare, and maternal and child health.

6. Schemes for Adolescent Girls

Providing rations, awareness sessions, and assistance to prevent anemia, ensuring the health and hygiene of adolescent girls.
