The Honorable Member of the Idukki Legislative Assembly, Mr. Roy K. Paulose, distributed the government-announced financial assistance to the dependents of late Sumathi (Mashikallel), whose house was destroyed in a landslide that occurred in the Adoormala area of Ward 7 in Kudayathoor Panchayat On August 1, 2026. Sumathi's husband, Mr. Ravi, received the aid. The function, held at the Kudayathoor Grama Panchayat Auditorium, was presided over by Panchayat President Mrs. Pushpa Vijayan. Ward 3 Member Mr. K. K. Muralidharan delivered the welcome address to those present. District Panchayat Member Mrs. Saji P. Jose, Block Panchayat Member Mr. Raju Odaykkal, various Grama Panchayat Standing Committee Chairpersons, other public representatives, the Thodupuzha Tahsildar, and the Kudayathoor Village Officer were present at the meeting.
A special Grama Sabha was organized on October 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Grama Panchayat Auditorium regarding the formulation of the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan (VGPP) under the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) scheme. The Grama Panchayat President, Standing Committee Chairpersons, and other elected representatives attended the meeting. Elamdesham Block Panchayat VB-GRAM(G) Accredited Engineer, Smt. Shaji N., explained the VGPP scheme to the gathering. Following this, live coverage of the state-level inauguration of Nirmalam-Puthuyuga Kerala—a public-participation waste management campaign launched under the leadership of the Local Self Government Department as part of the State Government’s 100-Day Action Plan—inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri V.D. Satheesan, was broadcast live at the meeting.
As part of the Swachh Bharat Scheme, the annual Swachhata Hi Seva campaign activities are being conducted from September 17 to October 17. Kaiyodu Kai is the campaign organized by the Suchitwa Mission in connection with this initiative. As part of the campaign, a 1-hour Mega Cleaning Drive was organized on October 1, 2026. Elected representatives of the Grama Panchayat, Haritha Karma Sena members, and members of the public participated.
Operation Toofan 2.0, the second-phase people’s movement against drug abuse and the distribution of narcotic substances in Kerala, is being jointly implemented by the Home Department and the Local Self Government Department, Government of Kerala, with active public participation. The Kudayathoor Panchayat-level inauguration of Operation Toofan 2.0 was held on 28 September 2026, and was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Panchayat President, Smt. Pushpa Vijayan. As part of the programme, the Toofan Flag was hoisted, followed by the Toofan Pledge, administered by Sri. Vineeth, Sub-Inspector, Kanjar Police Station. He also explained the objectives and activities planned under Operation Toofan 2.0 at the meeting.
The distribution of Toofan Warriors badges was inaugurated by presenting the first badge to Sri. Thomas Zacharias, Chairman, Welfare Standing Committee. The meeting was attended by Vice President Smt. Nesya Faisal, elected representatives Smt. Sheeba Chandrasekharapilla, Sri. K. K. Muraleedharan, Sri. Chandran P. R., Sri. Roji Francis, Sri. Francis, Sri. Biju K. U., Smt. Bindu Sudhakaran, Smt. Aji Mohanan, Smt. Tasni Shafeeq, and Smt. Prathibhamol, along with ASHA workers, Haritha Karma Sena members, Anganwadi staff, and leaders of various political parties and organisations. Sri. Roji Francis delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in and supported the programme.
Since 2017, under the aegis of the Swachh Bharat Mission, sanitation drives have been organized every year from September 17 to October 2 in connection with Gandhi Jayanti as Swachhata Hi Seva. "Kaiyodu Kai" is the campaign organized by the Kerala Suchitwa Mission in line with this initiative. As part of launching the campaign, the official logo release was performed by the Honorable Kudayathoor Grama Panchayat President, Smt. Pushpa Vijayan. Standing Committee Chairpersons, elected representatives, and Suchitwa Mission Coordinator Mr. Joshi P.B. were present on the occasion.
